Enzymes / Enzyme wash has become very common term with rights to everybody to use this wherever and whenever one wants. The interesting point is that even with a simple and easy screen / market presence of “Enzymes”, it still remains one of the most technical creation behind the curtains. This article is going to take you to some of the best and recent developments in “Neutral Cellulase” categories.

For those who are new to industry, cellulases are used to duplicate stonewash effect on denims, bio-polishing / antipiling on cotton garments and to achieve desired look and feel. These are available in two categories – Acidic Cellulases & Neutral Cellulases.

Nowadays, market is flooded with number of chemical suppliers and multiple products in cellulase category with majority dealing in fulfilling requirement of Acidic Cellulases.

Even in today’s time of multiple products, everyone involved with the wet processing industry will agree with me that still there are very few GOOD Neutral Cellulases at “right price / performance ratio.”

Apart from Denimax PB, there was no single product, which had set standards of high performance and typical characteristics of neutral cellulases.

Developments continued in the industry and different products were brought in by Big & Small Companies at various interval of time to grab the market share and set new standards in neutral Cellulase category. But none could leave a mark like Denimax PB. Against this background S&A Product Development Team started a project almost a year back with its overseas partners to formulate a neutral cellulase as per current requirement of this category on wet processing industry.

With the initial market survey, we found out that the neutral enzyme is mainly used at places where tinting and backstaining problem is acute. This was mainly visible at units catering to exports of Denim garments. There were also few takers of neutral cellulase because of ‘different’ salt and pepper effect it provides to the garments. Majority of such users are prominent domestic brands. With very specific requirements known in advance, S&A product development team looked for specific characteristic to be brought in during development of new neutral cellulase. After series of comparative trials, analysis and experimentation, two products are being introduced in markets, which are surely going to fulfill all the requirements of a genuine Neutral Cellulases. These are : Super FX 48 SA, Super FX Neutrazyme P 70

Both enzymes are buffered strong Neutral Cellulase with key feature of MINIMUM (zero) BACKSTAINING, Uniform abrasion pattern typically marked with “big” or “large” grains (as visible in traditional stone wash) and minimum tear / tensile loss.

Super FX 48 SA is a granular product with characteristics similar to Genuine Neutral Enzyme like Denimax PB, whereas Super FX Neutrazyme P 70 is in a powder form and has been formulated in a way to make it more aggressive by increasing cellulose binding sites in the complex protein structure, yet maintaining minimal (zero) backstaining during process. The pH, temperature and other profile of both the products make them more flexible in terms of uniform performance at different parameters.
